Hi there, and welcome to the ILWS New Stampin’ Up! catalogue Blog Hop. I’m Valerie, and you may have ‘hopped’ here from Rachel’s blog, or started here – either is good. If you’re not familiar with the Blog Hop concept, simply put, lots of UK based Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have got together to provide you with a huge amount of inspiration for the new catalogue. Each participant will have a link onto the next blog, and so on, until you go full circle back to where you started. I hope you’ll have chance to hop right round and see all the goodness we have to show.
I’ve focused on one of the Speciality Papers offered the new catalogue – Flirtatious, along with two of the dies available for the Big Shot – the new Petal Cone die and the Pillow Box. I’ve altered both of them to show you that all these dies give you lots of value for money:
This is an extended Pillow Box, and the Petal Cone die has also been turned into a little gift box!
Creating an extended Pillow Box is simple, you just score and fold a piece of card in two and positioning it on the die to just miss off one end, once cut and unfolded, you have a box twice as long as before. I’ve then embossed the box with the Perfect Polka Dots folder and then covered the crease in the centre with some of the gorgeous Flirtatious paper, a strip of card cut with the new Lace Border Punch and threaded with ribbon, then topped it with a stamped doily from the coordinating Delicate Doilies set and a button.
The Petal Cone die is an extremely versatile die – there really is masses you can do with it. Here I’ve trimmed the pointed bottom into flaps and created a flat-bottomed box with it. I’ve trimmed pieces of the Flirtatious paper to layer on to the sides, and added a beautiful flower cut from Wisteria Wonder (one of the 5 new gorgeous In-colours) using the Fun Flowers die:
Finished off with a button, this is a gorgeous little gift box. I wait to create more with this die, so watch this space!
Right then, now you’ll be wanting to hop on over to Kara’s blog, where she has some stunning creations for you. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you’ll visit me again soon. Hugs, Val. XX
