Warmth & Cheer For Global Design Project!

Hi! Happy Friday! To all my UK mum friends – I hope you have a fabulous half term – and a well deserved rest! Or maybe you’ll rest once they’ve gone back to school – ha ha! I feel like I’ve been a busy bee this week – and still have a long list of things I was meant to do! There are never enough hours in a day/week, are there? And forgoing sleep is so not an option for me!

I said I’d probably be back with another project using the Global Design Project sketch this week, and I am! I love this sketch so much:

gdp058

So, yesterday I made this card using the sketch – live on Facebook! I did my first (well, second) Facebook live yesterday – and I made lots of fun announcements. I’ll be sharing them here too, but if you can’t wait to hear what they all are, then hop on over to the Stamping With Val Facebook Page and watch the recording.

Anyway, one of the announcements I made was that I would be doing a weekly Facebook live on my page! Yay! So here was the card I made:

Pretty quick card actually. That gorgeous Cable Knit Embossing Folder does so much work on making your card, you don’t need much else!

If you live in the UK, and need any Stampin’ Up! supplies to make this, or any other project, you can get everything you need in my Online Shop. For this project, the items I used are listed below and you can click on any product image to add them to your shopping basket:

Stampin’ Up! Fiesta Birthday Card With Ombre Stamped Sentiment

Hi! Today I’m sharing the quickest card from my recent Scrapbook and Cards Today blog post. The ombre stamped sentiment adds interest but still means the card can be made in about 10 minutes. That’s a quick card in anybody’s book, right?!

Stampin' Up! - Quick Fiesta Birthday - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

I used the technique I shared in the video of this blog post, but just stuck to two colours this time, stamping off the Crushed Curry first before adding it again, and then the Pumpkin Pie.

The cactus and flower are simply stamped and die cut as usual and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Click on any product image below to be taken to my Online Store and purchase any supplies you need to make this card. I’d be delighted to be your demonstrator.

Botanical Blooms for Stamp Review Crew

Botanical Blooms Banner

Welcome to the Botanical Blooms Blog Hop from Stamp Review Crew! We are an international team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators looking to share projects around a single stamp set – often one you’ve had in your collection a while. We hope to bring you fresh inspiration to dig out those abandoned stamp sets!

That said, I used this Botanical Blooms fairly recently, so I was feeling a little burnt out when it came to using again today. So, whilst I love my very simple project, I’m not sure it’s terribly original!

I’ve kept my project very simple, but it’s actually one I’ve been meaning to try for a while. I masked a straight line off across my card with post-it notes. I was going to use Washi Tape, but actually when I removed it, it tore up my card a little bit, so I switched to Post-It notes.

I then added stamped leaves from the Botanical Blooms set across the boundary, trying to get a fun mix of greens. Once happy, I removed the Post-Its and added my greeting.

It’s unusual for me to make a one-layer card though, so that’s a fun twist too – and it’s a super quick card to boot!

I’m sure the rest of the team have been more creative than me, why not hop around and find out:

I’ll be back with another blog hop tomorrow! It’s all go round here this week!

Happy Birthday Quick Card & Video

Hi There! Popping in today with a quick card and video for you. I love quick cards because, to be honest, I’m not terribly organised about sending cards – for a card maker! Shocking I know, but I’m a bit rubbish about checking the calendar, so cards are often made at the last minute so they can go straight in the post.

Stampin' Up! - Styalized Birthday - Quick Card & Video - Valerie Moody; UK Demonstrator. X

This quick card is super, and can be tailored for any person, any age – love a card like that! And because it’s quick, you can whip up a batch without getting too bored, to have on standby!

I made you a video so you can see how quickly this card came together and how you can create your own.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. I’m going to be back soon, lots of posts coming your way!

I’m Lost Without You!

Popping in with a quick share today – the anniversary card I made my husband. Yesterday was our 12th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely break in Lincoln over the weekend, with the kids having a ‘sleepover’ at Grandad’s!

We relaxed, walked, talked – missed our children – and then wondered why about 2 hours after getting them back! It was lovely just to kick back together though, and we should do it more often.

Stampin' Up! - Going Global - Stamping With Val - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

I made this card for him, and I love it! I was worried about using the World Traveler embossing folder across a portrait card like this one, but by positioning the compass image at the break point – it totally works. It also meant I had a flat space at the bottom for my sentiment.

I also love that Antique Brad at the centre, the style fits perfectly with a compass!

I truly would be lost without him, I am so blessed to have him in my life.

Card Evolution With Going Global From Stampin’ Up!

Hi There! I hope you’re enjoying a good week? This time of year is always mad for me. I have 3 birthdays to fit before Christmas! We’re keeping things small this year, just a quick party tea for the girls, no full on party. I still need to make their birthday cards too!

In today’s card, I thought it would fun to share a quick video sharing my card making process – the card’s evolution from a single one-layer card to the final version below. Even the final card is still quick, clean and simple – just my style!

Going Global - Stampin' Up! - Stamping With Val - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

The stamp set and embossing folder I’ve used will be available in January in the new Spring/Summer catalogue – can’t wait! Enjoy the video – I’d love to know what you think – please let me know.

5 Minute Monday!

Hello! I hope you had an amazing weekend? Mine was great, it just went too fast! The weeks feel like they are rushing by – it’ll be Christmas before we know it! Sorry, but it had to be said!

Do you make your own Christmas Cards? Do you make them all different, or all the same? Or perhaps a couple of batches of a few designs? I know some people hate the repetition of making the same card over and over. Me – I don’t mind. I get into a rhythm, get a production line going and just get on with it.

However, more than that, I like a quick card. Now, your definition of quick may be different to mine. If your average card takes you 2 hours to create, then a 30 minute card may seem quick to you. For me, 30 minutes is a looooong time to make a card, so a quick card for me is 5 – 10 minutes max! That’s what I have for you today. In fact, you could make both of these in 10 minutes and probably knock out 10 in 30 minutes – easily! The perfect Christmas card in fact, if you hate hours of repetition:

Stampin' Up! - Reindeer Paper Clips Embellishments - Quick Card - Christmas Card - Stamping With Val - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

With this design, you could say ‘done’ to all your Christmas cards in just one afternoon, I reckon. It’s cute, a little quirky, but most of all – QUICK! Love that!

The cute reindeer clips just speak for themselves on this card. I added a little Home For Christmas Enamel Dot for Rudolph’s red nose, stamped a sentiment and voila!

Let me know what a ‘quick’ card means for you.

Stampin’ Up! Anniversary Card & PP#228…

I sat down this week to play with a card that involved treating your sentiment to some extreme treatment ala Maile Belles! I always love her cards, they are always so clean and simple, and yet look gorgeous. I worry that mine never looked finished when I aim for that level of CAS!

Anyway, I made it, I’m pleased with it, and by coincidence, it fits in this this weeks Paper Players Challenge:

pp228

And here is my creation:

Stampin' Up! - Your Perfect Day - PP#228 - Quick Cards - Occasions Catalogue - Stamping With Val - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

This has to be the ultimate CAS card, doesn’t it? Black base card and sentiment – that’s it!!

I love this big sentiment from the Your Perfect Day stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! - Your Perfect Day - PP#228 - Quick Cards - Occasions Catalogue - Stamping With Val - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

The change in font on a different line gave me the perfect place to cut the sentiment strip and add interest!

Stampin' Up! - Your Perfect Day - PP#228 - Quick Cards - Occasions Catalogue - Stamping With Val - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

I used my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities to highlight the little hearts formed in the sentiment – I love the way the swirls do that!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Come back next week for another card I gave the sentiment the slicing treatment too!
