Warmth & Cheer For Global Design Project!

Hi! Happy Friday! To all my UK mum friends – I hope you have a fabulous half term – and a well deserved rest! Or maybe you’ll rest once they’ve gone back to school – ha ha! I feel like I’ve been a busy bee this week – and still have a long list of things I was meant to do! There are never enough hours in a day/week, are there? And forgoing sleep is so not an option for me!

I said I’d probably be back with another project using the Global Design Project sketch this week, and I am! I love this sketch so much:

So, yesterday I made this card using the sketch – live on Facebook! I did my first (well, second) Facebook live yesterday – and I made lots of fun announcements. I’ll be sharing them here too, but if you can’t wait to hear what they all are, then hop on over to the Stamping With Val Facebook Page and watch the recording.

Anyway, one of the announcements I made was that I would be doing a weekly Facebook live on my page! Yay! So here was the card I made:

Pretty quick card actually. That gorgeous Cable Knit Embossing Folder does so much work on making your card, you don’t need much else!

If you live in the UK, and need any Stampin’ Up! supplies to make this, or any other project, you can get everything you need in my Online Shop. For this project, the items I used are listed below and you can click on any product image to add them to your shopping basket:

Use Your Stampin’ Up! Paper Stash!

Hi! Happy Hump Day! Hope you’re having a fun week? Today, I want to ask you a few questions about your paper stash!

Do you hoard paper? Do you find it too pretty to use, or even cut? Do you buy multiple packs so that you have some to use and some to keep? Perhaps you fear using it in case you think of a better use for it later on?

I have suffered from all these things my friend – you are not alone! In fact, I know this is a common condition amongst crafters – nearly everyone I know has suffered at some time.

Over time, I’ve gotten better, mostly for two reasons. Firstly, by buying from Stampin’ Up!, I know I can easily get some more if I use it. Secondly, I know that Stampin’ Up! will bring out more paper I love just as much really soon! This knowledge has stopped me being quite so precious about using up my paper stash (not perfect, I think I’ll always suffer a bit!). So, when Stampin’ Up! announced their current Paper promotion (buy 3 packs, get a 4th free), it was only right that I make a card using up some of my current stash – so I could justify getting some more of course!

Stampin' Up! - Birthday Card - Paper - Stamping With Val - Stampin' Up! UK

I first showcased this card on my Facebook page during my World Card Making Day celebrations. It’s a great way to use up some of those papers, and it’s such a versatile design, you can turn it into anything! Think weddings, Christmas, baby – cards for all these occasion could be made using this deign.

If you’d like to watch a video of how I created it, you can see it on of my Facebook page – Stamping With Val – or click the link below:

If you fancy giving me a like, or a share while you’re over there, that could be lovely too of course. It also means you’ll see more of the content I share over there.

And if you’d like to add some more paper to your stash, then just click the image below to see all the papers in the offer in my Online Store;

Thanks so much for stopping by today – let me know what your paper stash is like, won’t you?

Halloween Week – Mini Cards!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by again. All this week I’ve been sharing Halloween ideas using several seasonal products from Stampin’ Up! For my final project, I’ve some cute Mini Cards for you:

Sweet and simple – you could have the kids make them to hand out to their friends, or to pop a treat inside.

I’ve used the fabulous bundle; Spooky Fun stamp set and Halloween Scene dies for these cards – it’s my favourite pair of Halloween products from the Stampin’ Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue. These are easy to create, just make an A6 size card base, add a mixture of images and die cuts from the products and add them to your card fronts!

Here’s what I used:

I really hope you’ve enjoyed Halloween week here on the blog – I’ve certainly had fun creating and sharing with you.

Halloween Week – Party Anyone?

Hi! Thanks for joining me during Halloween week, here on the blog. Do you have a party to celebrate Halloween? Get all dressed up, invite the neighbours? If you do, then you’ll be needed some invitations right?

These invitations are super easy to create using the new Halloween Scene Edgelits. I’ve just die cut the tree and fence, and mounted them onto the Perfect Plum card base. I then stamped the sentiment from Confetti Celebrations, ombre-style onto white card and cut out with a circle die. Finally a couple of stamped bats finish it off. Pretty quick, perfect if you need to make a few of them.

If you need any supplies to create this project, please click on any product image below to add them to your basket in my Online Store – Thank you. X

Stampin’ Up! Fiesta Birthday Card With Ombre Stamped Sentiment

Hi! Today I’m sharing the quickest card from my recent Scrapbook and Cards Today blog post. The ombre stamped sentiment adds interest but still means the card can be made in about 10 minutes. That’s a quick card in anybody’s book, right?!

Stampin' Up! - Quick Fiesta Birthday - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

I used the technique I shared in the video of this blog post, but just stuck to two colours this time, stamping off the Crushed Curry first before adding it again, and then the Pumpkin Pie.

The cactus and flower are simply stamped and die cut as usual and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Click on any product image below to be taken to my Online Store and purchase any supplies you need to make this card. I’d be delighted to be your demonstrator.

Have a Banner Birthday!

Hi! Thanks to everyone who has commented on my post on Saturday. If you haven’t left me your feedback yet, please hop over there and leave me a comment – the more I receive, the better a service I can deliver!

Today, I’m sharing a fairly quick card that I made when creating for my recent Scrapbook & Cards Today blog post. This one didn’t make the final cut, but I still love it, and I’m sharing it with you today.

Stampin' Up! - Banner Birthday - Birthday Fiesta - Valerie Moody, UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

Despite cutting off the 6th banner that the die creates, I’ve still left the banner’s protruding over the sides of the card. It means this won’t fit into a standard envelope as it is, but you can either trim them shorter so it would, or create a larger envelope using your punch board or similar.

My favourite element of this collection of cards is the ombre sentiment. I’ve no full project video tutorial for you this week, however, I do have a couple of quick technique tutorials though, in which this ombre stamped look is the first one of the week:

The rest of the card is pretty easy to create, with the 3 banners added to the top of the card.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. Come back soon for more projects – there is an Artisan Blog Hop later this week!

Botanical Blooms for Stamp Review Crew

Botanical Blooms Banner

Welcome to the Botanical Blooms Blog Hop from Stamp Review Crew! We are an international team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators looking to share projects around a single stamp set – often one you’ve had in your collection a while. We hope to bring you fresh inspiration to dig out those abandoned stamp sets!

That said, I used this Botanical Blooms fairly recently, so I was feeling a little burnt out when it came to using again today. So, whilst I love my very simple project, I’m not sure it’s terribly original!

I’ve kept my project very simple, but it’s actually one I’ve been meaning to try for a while. I masked a straight line off across my card with post-it notes. I was going to use Washi Tape, but actually when I removed it, it tore up my card a little bit, so I switched to Post-It notes.

I then added stamped leaves from the Botanical Blooms set across the boundary, trying to get a fun mix of greens. Once happy, I removed the Post-Its and added my greeting.

It’s unusual for me to make a one-layer card though, so that’s a fun twist too – and it’s a super quick card to boot!

I’m sure the rest of the team have been more creative than me, why not hop around and find out:

I’ll be back with another blog hop tomorrow! It’s all go round here this week!

Tropical Gift Bag!

Hi there! Has all this warm weather got you dreaming of tropical islands? Sandy white beaches, fresh blue seas? It’s not for me I’m afraid – but I do love to explore the tropical in my crafting! And perfect for a birthday at this time of year is a Pineapple Gift Bag!

Stampin' Up! - Tropical Birthday Gift Bag - Valerie Moody; UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

I love the Pop of Pink suite! This project is one that didn’t make it into my corporate blog post last month! Not because I don’t love it – but because I was struggling to photograph those handles again!

I gold embossed the large Pineapple directly onto the black and white striped DSP. It was slightly nerve-wracking, in case I got it wrong and ruined the whole sheet of yummy DSP, but it turned out gorgeous! All that was needed was a ‘pop of pink’ to finish it off. I opted for a Melon Mambo twine handle, and the sentiment ‘Have A Tropical Day’ made using my Labeler stamp set – love this set – I need to use it more!

Why not grab everything you need to make your gift bag from my Online Store? I’d love to be your demonstrator, and as a thank you for ordering from me, I’ll send you a little gift – and a thank you card of course! Just use the Hostess Code: MDJYMZUJ when you order.

Happy Birthday Quick Card & Video

Hi There! Popping in today with a quick card and video for you. I love quick cards because, to be honest, I’m not terribly organised about sending cards – for a card maker! Shocking I know, but I’m a bit rubbish about checking the calendar, so cards are often made at the last minute so they can go straight in the post.

Stampin' Up! - Styalized Birthday - Quick Card & Video - Valerie Moody; UK Demonstrator. X

This quick card is super, and can be tailored for any person, any age – love a card like that! And because it’s quick, you can whip up a batch without getting too bored, to have on standby!

I made you a video so you can see how quickly this card came together and how you can create your own.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. I’m going to be back soon, lots of posts coming your way!

Have A Dino-Rrific Birthday!

Hi there! Here’s a cute and quick birthday card for all the young (and not so young!) men in your life. I hadn’t played with my No Bones About It set in a while, so it was nice to bust that out. I also challenged myself to use Tempting Turquoise – a colour sorely neglected in my collection:

Stampin' Up! - No Bones About It - Stamping With Val - Valerie Moody; Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. X

I also love the palm leaf die cuts from the Botanical Builder Thinlit set – I think the coordinate perfectly with the dinosaur theme!

Thanks for stopping by, I’ll be back again soon,
