Warmth & Cheer For Global Design Project!

Hi! Happy Friday! To all my UK mum friends – I hope you have a fabulous half term – and a well deserved rest! Or maybe you’ll rest once they’ve gone back to school – ha ha! I feel like I’ve been a busy bee this week – and still have a long list of things I was meant to do! There are never enough hours in a day/week, are there? And forgoing sleep is so not an option for me!

I said I’d probably be back with another project using the Global Design Project sketch this week, and I am! I love this sketch so much:

gdp058

So, yesterday I made this card using the sketch – live on Facebook! I did my first (well, second) Facebook live yesterday – and I made lots of fun announcements. I’ll be sharing them here too, but if you can’t wait to hear what they all are, then hop on over to the Stamping With Val Facebook Page and watch the recording.

watch-the-video

Anyway, one of the announcements I made was that I would be doing a weekly Facebook live on my page! Yay! So here was the card I made:

Pretty quick card actually. That gorgeous Cable Knit Embossing Folder does so much work on making your card, you don’t need much else!

If you live in the UK, and need any Stampin’ Up! supplies to make this, or any other project, you can get everything you need in my Online Shop. For this project, the items I used are listed below and you can click on any product image to add them to your shopping basket:

I need to get that scheduled in somewhere, ASAP!

When I make my Christmas cards though, I tend to err on the side of traditional when it comes to colours and style, so this combination is a classic for you:

Holly Berry Happiness Christmas Card

Hi! Thanks for the amazing response to my new Star Of Light card class – I am so excited to start offering card making kits as well as my online class versions – and it looks like you are too!

Today, I’m sharing another Christmas card, and it’s a bit of hybrid! I took two cards – one from the Autumn/Winter Stampin’ Up! catalogue, and another from the lovely Allison, and meshed them together:

Stampin' Up! - Holly Berry Happiness - Christmas Card - Stamping With Val, Stampin' Up! UK

We made this card at my Card Class on Friday Night – I hold a monthly card class here in Rugby, UK. In October, I start to offer a Christmas card as one of the card designs. We’ll then do 2 in November, and finally 3 in December. Christmas cards are my favourite kind to share!

This is a single stamp set card – always love those – using Holly Berry Happiness. I’ve been mentally begging Stampin’ Up! for a holly set for years, so I am so excited to have my wish come true – and with a matching punch to boot!

You can purchase everything you need to recreate this card from my Online Shop – just click any product image below to add them to your basket.

Do you have a stamp set or product you’ve been hoping Stampin’ Up! would bring out? Let me know what it is – just leave a comment.

Here are a few FAQ’s:

How much does the class cost?

The class costs just £10, which is approx. €11.50 EUR, $13 US, $17 CAN, $17 AUS, $18 NZ, depending on the exchange rate. A bargain in any currency, I’d say!

I paid for my class, how do I get it?

For those of you who pre-registered for class – classes were emailed out this morning. If you haven’t received yours yet, please check your spam/trash boxes, and ensure you have added my email address to your safe list. If you still don’t have it, please get in touch. Classes purchased from today onward will be emailed out within 48 hours of payment, and usually much quicker. Please note that the system is NOT automatic and all classes are actually emailed to you, by me, individually.

What will I receive?

You will receive an email from me, in which are links to 2 PDF documents, one for metric measurements, one for imperial. Each document includes terms & conditions of use, fully linked supply list, a written tutorial for each project, along with a link to a private video for each project too. There is also a bonus video to show you how I created my tag embellishments. There are over 2 hours of videos included in this class. (Please note, this class contains no physical product).

I don’t have the products you’ve used?

The class comes with a full supply list, so you can purchase everything you need if you wish to recreate my samples exactly. However, feel free to use whatever products you do have – once you know the principles, let your imagination run wild!

Can I teach this class to my customers?

Many of my online classes are purchased by fellow demonstrators. I am happy for you to verbally teach these projects to your class attendees in person. However, you may not print, email, reproduce, re-write or in anyway, distribute the PDF tutorials. You may not email, distribute, re-record or broadcast the video tutorials.

If you have any further questions regarding the usage of my online classes, please email me for a copy of the class terms & conditions.

Why should I buy an online class from you?

I share a great deal freely on my blog, including cards, boxes, techniques and more. The projects I offer in my online classes tend to be a little more involved, with more product used and more time spent creating, recording and editing in order to share with you.

I am also crafter with over 15 years experience, and I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator  over 8 of those. I love all papercrafting, but large bags and boxes are something of a speciality of mine. I am a member of the current Artisan Design Team – a team of demonstrators chosen specifically by Stampin’ Up! for our creativity. I have run several very successful online classes in the past, much enjoyed by those taking part.

I hope you’ll get your hands on this class now, while it’s still available. I know you’ll love creating these projects.

Candy Cane Christmas For 1st Christmas Card!

Hi! When you read this, I’ll have been at the dentist getting my lost filling replaced! Are you nervous of the dentist, like me? My nerves are not helped by the fact my dentist keeps changing – they keep leaving! I must have a bad effect on them!!

Today I’m sharing my first Christmas card for the season on the blog for this year. I love Christmas, and I have been creating up a storm for it already, but I didn’t want to start on the cards on the blog too early and end up out of ideas by November.

stampin-up-candy-cane-lane-christmas-make-your-own-christmas-cards-stamping-with-val-x

Today’s card is classic Stamping With Val style – those of you familiar with my work will probably recognise it as mine at a hundred paces! It took me years to find, and then be happy in my style. If you’re still struggling to find or develop yours, my advice would be to stop worrying. You probably have it already, you just need to recognise it, and then go with the flow.

I’m pretty traditional when it comes to Christmas, I’d say. So the Candy Cane Lane suite at the beginning of the Stampin’ Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue caught my eye immediately. Of course, packaging came first to mind, but then I moved on to cards. This is the first one I created with it, and I must say, I’m pretty smitten!

Grab My Style – Tips and Tricks.

  • I love to add a top layer to my cards slightly shorter than the card base. I also sometimes leave a slight border at the top too.
  • I stamped the bottom border using the Stampin’ Up! Candy Cane Christmas stamp set. I used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to get it straight, but alternatively you could also use some Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape to speed that up.
  • Twine!! Love twine! The Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine coordinates beautifully (of course!).
  • Jingle Bells! I struggled to attach these, originally threading them onto the wrapped twine, the weight then pulled on the twine. Instead, I knotted the wrapped twine at the back, then added the bells on a separate piece tied around and with a bow – problem solved!

Love From Santa Gift Box

Hi There! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week? Mine has been busy. We’ve been away for a few days, and then when I got back, I had my monthly card class here in Rugby, UK (get in touch to come along!). I feel like I’ve a bit of catching up to do!

Today, I’m sharing a quick gift box with you that I made after I prepped my projects for the Artisan Design Team Christmas in July blog hop. I’d submitted my team projects, but decided to play a little longer with the design to create a matching gift box:

Stampin' Up! - Peace This Christmas - Gift Box - Valerie Moody, Independent UK Demonstrator. X

It’s made using the Gift Bag Punch Board, with angled sides for interest.

Stampin' Up! - Peace This Christmas - Gift Box - Valerie Moody, Independent UK Demonstrator. X2

As you can see, it coordinates with my original card. I’m getting quite excited about Christmas already. My Stampin’ Up! Autumn/Winter Catalogue pre-order should be here really soon, and I can’t wait to get into the Christmas spirit!

In the meantime, you can grab all these Christmas products from the Stampin’ Up Annual Catalogue in my Online Store. Just click on the product images to add them to your basket and have them sent straight to your door:
